Beyond the Factory Walls is part of the Australia-Indonesia Arts and Community Program, an initative of Asialink, and is supported by the Community Cultural Development Board of the Australia Council.

However, there are Aus$13,700 in project costs still to cover. We are keen for businesses and generous individuals to involve themselves in supporting this projecting by offering help in covering:

Airfares to Jakarta? $5,200
Insurance cover for three months in Asia? $2,400
Artist fees and living allowances? $8,100
Workers transport allowances and catering costs? $3,124
Fees for Indonesian crew employed for the project? $1,800
Accommodation rental costs? $1,600
Production costs? $2,800

While financial help is not the only useful way of contributing it is certainly primary. But perhaps there are other ways that you feel you could be of help?

Are you able to produce publicity for future fundraisers and post-production?
Can you help distribute publicity about this project?
Are you an able web designer interested in designing a website for the project?
Can you help out with media work for the project?
Are you fluent in Indonesian and able to translate documents pertinent to the pre-production, production, and post-production aspects of the project?

While there is no funding available to finance the involvement of additional crew for the production period of Feb – May 2004, ARTV is keen for anyone artist/researcher/activist or otherwise to involve themselves in the project. If you are planning to be in Asia during the period scheduled for production why don’t you talk to us about how you can play a part in this very exciting project!

Fundraising efforts currently include film screenings throughout NSW and an art auction in January. If you are able to contribute an artwork or organise a screening in your town or city, please contact us.
